I found out some information. I emailed Techline with some questions and here's the responses.
I emailed: "
I have a question about TURBO X ™. Am I able to use this product inside of the following: exhaust manifold and turbine housing? What are the temperature ratings for this product? What temperature is the "fail point"? I ask because I will probably be seeing exhaust gas temps of up to 1600 degrees."
Response: "
Turbo X is NOT designed for inside use. Our MCS is, but prep is critical especially on a turbo as you DO NOT want delamination."
The response was pretty lacking, so i asked again: "
Sorry to be a nuisance; What are the temperature ratings for TURBO X?
Is it possible for me to get some of the MCS? I see that it's in the "Shop Only" section, but I can assure you that I won't be baking the turbo next to tonights turkey dinner
Are there any special preparations above and beyond what is used prior to performing a standard ceramic/powder coating job?"
Response: "
Turbo X will maintain adhesion to 2000f. The color will flatten at 1000F but will maintain color stability to it's temp limits. MCS is only available to a shop who has sent in a copy of their Business License and their State Resale or Tax ID number."
Mike, or anyone who has access to the web site's design, you may want to add to the description of
the TURBO X product that it is not meant to be used internally and that it maintains adhesion to 2000f.
