Default Re: Electric Heating Elements

Tri-J, I just built a 4'x4'x6' oven and used the coil type elemnts. I have used the oven a couple of times and found they work but you do need air flow over them or they will have a short life. I have since found a new element to use which is the cow rod type, sort of like the one in your household oven. They are 5600 watts which is 19208 btu's. They are commercial elements and cos around $50.00 a piece.

The new elements (3) heat my oven to 400 deg. in about 25 mins. and do not require the fan that I put in. I am not at the sop right now but will get the manufacturer and part # for you later. Hope this info helps. I know I had a heck of a time finding info like this.
