Default Re: Repairing rusted chrome plating

You need to get all that rust out first, so you'll need to make that indentation. Plating won't stick to an area of rust.

Once you've sanded the rust out, you can use a copper plate (assuming the base metal is compatible) and then apply a nickel, then chrome plate.
