Default Silver vein and Hig temp black questions

I have 2 questions about new powders I used for the first time tonight. First is I was using high temp gloss black. The problem is it just isnt nearly as glossy as regular powder. Is that typical? My oven temps and timing were good according to the directions but it just isnt as nice looking as i expected.

My other question is about silver vein. I just did a small 3"x2" test plate but I was wondering if you can vary the look of the powder. My test plate had very small texture with small bits of silver and black. Other pieces I've seen have a coarser looking texture. Is there a way to vary that with temp, time, thickness or anything?
