When the power goes out?
OK, hopefully this isn't a problem that many of you have, but we live kind of out in the hills at the end of the grid and the power here goes off rather often. We've lived here for 9 months now and it's been off over a dozen times, sometimes just for a few minutes, but more usually for several hours and once for 3 very long days...
So... what is the smart thing to do when you're in the middle of an anodizing run and the power goes off?
Should I remove all the parts from the acid tank and immerse them in clean water until the power comes back on?
Or is it OK to leave them in the acid bath with no power applied for a while? If so, how long do you think it's acceptable to leave them in the bath unpowered?
5 minutes? 5 hours? A whole day?
If an hour or so would be OK, it's probably enough time to get the backup generator started and get the shop back on line again.
What say ye? OK to leave 'em in the ano tank? Or?
Thanks!
Steve
