Re: First paying item DISASTER!!!!
Finally!! I got this part finished to the satisfaction of the owner. Got ticked at it yesterday and took the wire wheel to it. Took the whole thing back down to bare metal. Then sanded it with the DA. Then wiped it down with brake cleaner and hit it one more time with brake cleaner. Let it air dry. Sprayed it flat on the rack with ground hooked directly to the part. Item took powder well but the edges played the faraday effect game. Moved the ground and managed to get one of the trouble spots coated. Turned the air way down and kind of dropped powder from high up upon the last edge. managed to get a pretty good coat.
Took it to the new oven, hooked it and hung it in the oven. Fired it up and ramped it up slow. Got it to 400. Set it for 20 minutes,at 15 I killed the power and let it sit till cooled. Came out great. At last.
