I filtered mine once like this to remove a bunch of plastic shavings from drilling holes for bulk head fittings, that caused lots problems with my agitation pipes

Anyway pick a spot to drain it at (where ever your drain is) get a plastic cup and cut bottom out of it, put one of the thick types of paper towels over the cup and drain thru that

I also do this regular with a glass coffe cup to skim the top, pour the solution thru the thick paper towel like above right back into the tank
