no bigger than 4" and that is on the fast side. just be careful when you first touch the part with the wheel so it doesnt grab. also i use a setup like sswee told you about. i can say for sure that you want to buff to an edge(wheel spins clockwise, touching part on the right side of the wheel, move to the edge so the wheel is turning from the metal off the edge not starting on to it) hope that makes sense. in the buff manual it is called cut motion.
