The wire I've been getting is type 1-2 and type 2. I understand it is the most pure titanium alloy, but a bit softer than other alloys. Also, temper makes a big difference in hardness. The wire I get is easily shaped with pliers, and can be threaded too.
I use the wire bent back onto itself to make an inside spring... works great, and is an instant connection. Never lost a connection yet after going to Ti.

BTW, we are starting another Ti order... maybe you want to get in on it. Right now, both sizes are on back order, but we could pre-order some to make sure it get's brought in designated for us. http://forum.caswellplating.com/show...6506#post26506
