Default anodizing aluminum stnls attached

I am starting to anodize some archery pieces of mine and have done great so far X-cept I messed up good.
I anodized a release,I broke it down to only the cnc machined exterior to be anodized .
Within the aluminum pieces were multiple studs(maybe stainless) ,I think to hold the piece firm and help in aligning them when they are put back together.
I could not remove them as they were pressed in ,so I just anodized the piece anyway....
Wrong thing to do. It ate away most all of the studs and so a lesson has been learned.
However ,I'm sure it can be done somehow.
If I used the Caswell mask and just cover the odd metal that will be in the ano. tank will this be o.k. ?
Will it eat the piece anyway since it is attached to the aluminum.?

Thanks in advance for the advice
