It needs to be broken down. Cleaned like you're gonna drink out of it, and should be shot hot. Also try your best to keep it thin, you don't want to cause an overheating condition. The carb can be done but needs to be stripped down completely...This means that everything should be taken out of the inside and only the body should be done. A good rule to follow is...The only thing that should go into the oven are parts with powder on them. I know someone who cured an engine case with the crank bearings still in place...huge mistake!! After about 10 mins of runtime the crank bearings spun and destroyed the case.
