that is not always true. i have found from lots of hours in the shop polishing, that on most aluminum the loose white combination is not the end all. i get a better shine with the spiral and white. i also use red and spiral. the loose wheels can cause a slapping action on the part that can actually cause more haze/scratching than the more solid face of a spiral.
