Default Masking Methods

Some of the items in the pictures forum are facinating for their detail! I am interested in knowing how folks mask when doing 2 (+) colors on intricate detail. Like those items where stock tape may be too wide. I've been experimenting with some valve covers and am not ready to take the plunge.

I've used sifted baking flour (my wife wondered how the bag got opened!) as a test medium for how to brush off powder using a silicone squeege, then a brush, and my finger. I'm still not ready to bake powder on the parts yet. But the flour did work well as a test powder. I used a small sifter to deposit it over the part, nice fine covering.

So, how have some of you masked or removed powder from fine detail areas?

Alex
