Ive been having a go with it today, on a sandblasted rocker cover for a bmw e30 and although its doing a good job, ive loaded up a wheel twice with two layers of this, heated it with hairdryer to dry it out quickly, and ive only done about half of the cover. Bit worried its gonna use too much and not be worth using, cost effective wise?

No doubt it's a pain. But you use what you have - if you find something better, let us know. Maybe Cratex, but they wear out too as I understand it. As far as cost effectiveness, you'll have to decide that for yourself. I try to include a materials cost in my estimates but I'm still not fast enough to do that plus a decent hourly wage.
Each loading will last longer if you stay away from edges, which will snatch it off the wheel real quick.
