Default Re: My Oven is coming right along

A bit of an update to my oven. I would probably be done by now, except that I keep changing things. Want it sturdy enough to hang an engine block from the ceiling, but want to be able to place one or several racks in it as well. Have a small business that may want me to powder coat their meter boxes. They do hundreds of those things and I want to be able to keep up with their demands.

So far I have all the sheet metal cut and have rolled stiffening beads in the sheet metal and have a couple mounted as of yesterday with the insulation and should finish mounting the rest of them today. Also am planning on running the wiring in the doors for the lights and hopefully my lights and glass will arrive today.

The unfortunate thing about my oven is the fact that I started out planning on building it one way and as I finished planning it, I was heading in a different direction. So I have to live with the 28 ga. sheet metal for now. Although, if it don't appear to work out, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and change the insides to 20 or 22 ga. galvanized. And after I got ready to apply the sheet metal I found out that it wasn't wide enough to use it in one full sheet, so I have had to run it sideways. Meaning, I was 3'x8' sheets and had to cut them in two and use them that way. But it works. Just makes more work for me. Will post more pics after today's building cession.
