so , let say i have 14 square inches of SA, i would then multiply 14x .03125 which is 0.4375. is this what i set my power source to?

and is this my calculation for time? 720/0.4375 x 0.005 = time?
No. 720min \ CD x desired coating thickness in mils = run time
It's 720min \ 4.5A x .5 mil (from .1 to 1 mil) = 90 min. run time
1 mil = .001" , .5 mil = .0005" For calculations use mils.
is 0.4375 my ASF.
No. 4.5 is the ASF(amps per square foot) or the CD (current density).
.4375A is just the amperage setting for the PS for the 14" SA part.
Round it off to .4A since the PS probably only has a single place decimal point adjustment.
