different ways of doing fades but here is how i do mine
valve cover example
hang the cover , lower pressure in gun to imit the size of powder cloud
start powdering red from the top going down to 1 inch past the middle of the cover then clean the gun and reload with purple , start powderring from bottom
going up til 1inch past the middle to overlap on the red put in oven and cure.
once it is cured you can put an extra coat of clear on top if you want more shine to it
