These are common problems w/the hobby gun. You get what you pay for.

The "steel thingy" can be unthreaded off the center rod. Put a slight bend in the center rod where the "thingy" normally sits. Put the "thingy" back on. Spring tension from the bend will not hold it in snug.

My cap is also loose, but not to the point where powder escapes. If/when it does, it will need re-gluing. Hold the cap, not the gun, when you screw the cup on.
