I guess I should have changed the title to my question a little. I am really trying to get more information about the heaters.

I don't even have the E.N. kit. I just wanted to buy some of the heaters, but I don't know what temperature range they work in without the thermostats. The thermostats only work in the 110-140degF range, but the heaters need to be in the 170-200 range for E.N. So do they self regulate up to this temperature without boiling the water when they don't have thermostats? I don't really want to spend $15/yr on the manual if I am not buying the kit. Thanks,
