I neutralize the acid with baking soda... you can get large bags of industrial grade baking soda from Costco.
Pour a small amount into a 5 gal pail, and add a bit of BS and stir (wear safety equipment). The acid will foam and rise up in the container, so don't do too much at a time. Repeat after the foaming subsides. Continue this way until the foaming is nearly zero.
After the acid is neutralized, you can pour it down the toilet.
Just so you know, the new liquid drain cleaners are sulphuric acid.
