Caswell's silvaspray works well for me on a variety of substrates. I don't know specifically about Styrene, but I suspect it would work fine.
You might have to use the Caswell sealer concentrate first, to ensure a tight bond for the silvaspray (you'd have to test it with and without). Spray on the silvaspray using an airbrush for a smooth finish and let dry. Proceed then to acid copper, nickel, or copy chrome.
One thing you should consider is that electrocoating the parts may prevent a good fit. The tolerances may be too fine.
