Compressor question.
Hi, question about compressors, and noise.
I currently have a 16 gallon Porter-Cable *oil-less* type compressor.
It is a single stage deal, and it is VERY loud. I makes 5.4@90 and 8@40
It can't keep up with any sandblasting, but it is handly because I can keep it outside in the shed.
I am looking at a 60 gallon two stage oil-lubricated deal from Eagle. It makes 11.2@90 and 18@40. It is 230V though.
I would have to mount this in my basement and run hoses out a basement window to the shed though (no 230V service, and cant install one either)
What is the noise difference between the two? I would never be able to run the small one inside the house, but outside in the shed you can barely hear it.
Would the big one be noticeable in the basement? I can run a grinder and drills all day long in the basement with no complaints from the Mrs. WHat do you think? Much sound different between the two?
