Default Digital Controller and SSR Questions?

I have a SET620 Digital Temperature Controller and a 75Amp SSR. I am somewhat confused about the specs and how to wire it. My controller says 85-285VAC or DC. My question is: do I need to attach both hot legs to get 240VAC, or will one hot leg and a nuetral work for 120VAC? I don't really see where to attach the nuetral on my schematic. I am also confused about the output on the controller. It says 8Volt output for the SSR. Is this AC or DC? My SSR is 3-32VDC input, so AC won't work but how does it turn the AC input into DC output? Any help would be appreciated. I will be using 4 2500Watt elements.
