What power supply to use?
I will be using the small 1.5gal Copy Cad system to zinc plate small parts, such as nuts,bolts, plates 10 sq inches), etc.
Instead of spending the $ for the 3 Amp current rectifier by Caswell, I thought for this small project I would use a 12V 1 amp Power Supply that I had left over from some other equipment, When I plugged it in, and attached it to the cathod and anode, The parts started bubbling inside the solution, after a few minutes it stopped, I checked the power coming from the P/S, and it was ZERO. I tried again with a 24V, 600mamp P/S, and after a few minutes, the voltage went to ZERO again- No power coming out.
Did I fry the P/S 's ? If so, what can I use to temporarily get this working??
Will a trickle type battery charger work?? I dont want to wait a week or 2 for the Caswell system, if possible,
