what i mean by that is if you do a job for a friend and you charge the guy like 50$it s not really important how long it takes to do or if there is few defects on the part BUT when you do it as a full time business , customers are way more demanding so you must deliver high quality work and at the same time you have to do it so that it brings you x amount of $ per hour to cover your salary and all the expenses , if that is what you want you will get there but my only advice is " take your time take it one step at a time do the job right and speed will come with experience"

Words of wisdom...it's a tough row to hoe, which is why I have no illusions of making a living at it right now. However, when I retire it'll be a dynamite source of extra money.
I have found that integrity and honesty go a long way toward getting repeat customers. If I can't get something perfect, I tell them so and I knock off a few dollars. I have almost no complaints handling it that way.
