The principle is the same as PC ovens. The same controller and heaters will work too. What you'll need is better insulation as most of fiberglass insulation is rated 1000 degrees or less. You'll need to move into the mineral wool or ceramic type insulation for higher temperatures. It costs more but it's still cheaper than fire brick.

Some of the cure temps for ceramic coatings get into the 1500-1700 degree range and some are half that. The type of coating you intend to use should guide your selection for insulation. Also, higher temp ovens are extremely hazardous so you'll have to consider vent design and possibly safety locks on the door. Wood products will burst into flames immediately if exposed to these higher vent temperatures. Above 1000 degrees, you're in the oxidation stage of steel and it will begin to glow dark red. Your liner may need to be ceramic coated or layered with a kiln material to extend life.
