Very true... i couldn't agree more.
One suggestion, skip the deep red. I've never had good luck with it (turns out kind of pink). You can alway adjust the depth of color with dye time and ano thickness. I use bordeaux red for everything. I'm sure somebody will jump in and tell me I'm full of ****. but that's my oppinion, and I'm sticking by it.
