Greaseless compound leaving "orange peel"
Hello. I received my order Monday, and while I have been busy with little ungerncies, I did try a few products. First the sisal wheel works great with emery. Also I used the greaseless on a new spiral wheel 180 grit 1st.
I had no problem getting it to stick to the wheel. I discovered that I could dry it quickly with the heat gun as well. That said I let it continue to dry for over 2 hrs. When I use it -it leaves the aluminum with "orange peel"-as if I had used a wire wheel on it. I am using an 8" spiral wheel-on a 3450 rpm motor. When it wears off, I rake the wheel clean, and blow it out with compressed air.
I think it may have to do with raking the wheel, the wheel get softer and now the abrasive "slaps" agianst part.....I am not sure. I really need to master the use of the greaseless to save time. BTW the sisal /emery takes out the orange peel-but takes a while.
Thanks for any help.
