Default Re: What am i doing wrong?? Green drab

Well that doesn't sound like your problem, although I have experienced problems with yellow chromate when the copy cad is not thick enough. The yellow chromate will eat some of the cad and I assume the olive drab would be the same, so you do have to have enough for successfull chromating. I like to leave even small parts in the cad for a good 10 minutes or so with plenty of amperage, as long as it isn't burning the zinc or getting a rough surface. I would think if you didn't have enough zinc on the part it would still turn a shade of green instead of yellow.

Let me know how it turns out with thicker plating.
