I decided to use a flat punch and pound a small part of the center of the studs flat so I could put in a few spacers. This will just make the floor a little stronger to walk on. I used self tapping phillips head screws on the areas where a piece of sheet metal or another stud will contact it. This will keep everything laying flat. I also left enough room so that after I get the whole skeleton framed together I can go back and drill and rivet it to.

Also if you notice I ran the studs left to right and 12 on center. I ran them like this so when you walk in the oven you will always have a foot on a stud and not just sheet metal.
