I have a small hobby gun. It is a Redline model. It works very good most of the time for what it is. The problem that I started to have this weekend is that my powder will not stick to the parts at all. I thought that maybe it was a ground so I checked it out and the ground is fine. When I step on the pedal the light on the control box comes on like normal. I tried to get a "static discharge" at the ground from the tip of the gun but not dice.

I got out my multimeter and did a voltage check from the ground to the tip electrode while pushing the pedal and I get about 180 volts This seems like way too much for a 110v system. Since I don't know for sure what the output voltage is supposed to be (no good instruction manual) I am not sure if the transformer inside of the unit is a "step down" or a step up" transformer. Does anyone know what the voltage should be reading at the tip? Or have come across this problem before?

Thanks in advance for any help and input.

You are luckey it didnt work..........
