Default Re: High temp Powder coating Problems

I wasnt around when they did it .....but im sure they used the same process they always use.....i know they soaked everything in some kind of degreaser ...or other chemical......and i told them that the manufacturers specs ...say to cure it @450 degrees for 20 minutes.....they did go right over the orignal chrome....but that shouldnt have been a problem. right now im thinking that they probably didnt let the metal reach 450.....before they started counting the 20 minutes....if thats not it ..then i have no idea.....the Coating wasnt too thick ...or thin......So? ......the next time they try....everything will be bare metal....So if they let it cure longer....will that keep it from coming off? ........And Yes the parts are pretty new ....off a 2007 roadglide.....i bought it new last fall.....im trying to black out as much as i can.....like the exhaust (mufflers) ..and heat shields ....the crash bar....air cleaner cover ..etc. .....its going to look awesome! ....if i can get the powder coating right! ..... Any tips or suggestions that might help ....would be awesome!!! if i ever get it right... i`ll post some pics ..... Thanks
