I think this is bad advice. While a lot of wire size calculators will give the type of numbers suggested, you need to look at the NEC to determine what is allowable.

10ga wire in a residential application cannot exceed 30 amps. A 70 amp breaker for an oven is looking at 4 ga. I believe commercial wire gauges are the same, but may require conduit as noted above.
