I have some BBS rc090 2 piece wheels which I want to polish the rims on.
I have got the bolts out, removed the centres and have stripped the paint only to find that in the past someone has sand/shot blasted them leaving a rough pitted surface.
I have started to sand this down by hand but 4 hours later I realised I hadnt even managed to do one tenth of one wheel I realised I may need some help.

What would you guys reccomend to use to get the surface flat before I can start on the polishing work?

I have seen some 80 grit greaseless compound mentioned, is that gonna be quicker?
