Different base materials and surface conditions reflect light through the powder differently. Also, thickness is important for matching colors. When using candy colors it's better to shoot all parts with a common base color. To get a good color match, shoot all parts at the same time or batch. You're more likely to get a common thickness. It takes practice but after a while you'll be able to shoot parts months apart and get the same color.
