Default Re: auto window tint remover

Window tinting is my day job. The steamer is definately the way to go, but there is a cheaper alternative that works just about as well. You need a good hot sunny day for it to work well.

You`ll need the following :
A small spray bottle filled with soapy water
A couple of black garbage bags
A razor blade or utility knife
A little patience, lol.

Spray your window down with the soapy water and lay your garbage bag out on the window. Use your knife to cut it to shape, it doesn`t have to be exact, you only want to get all the tint covered. Be careful when cutting on glass, you can scratch it. Once its cut to shape, spray the inside of the glass with a heavy coat of your soapy water and the garbage bag as well. Lay the bag on the inside of the glass, wet side to wet side. Wipe the bag down, but don`t push the water out, you just want to make sure you don`t have alot of "puckers" without any contact. Once thats done, back the car outside and let it sit a few hours in the hot sun. 90% of the time it pulls film and glue off with very little mess. This technic is called "Sweating" and it works pretty well if you have the time to allow it to work.
