Chrome can be tricky when not applying a tinted clear over it. I have found in my experiance to warm the oven and the part together does better that sticking the cooled part into a hot oven. Once the part has been at 400 for 10-15 I let it cool down slowly to room temp. Apply the clear than bake as normal.
