Here is how I would do it.
Polish letters but without any compounds.
Shoot wrinkle red.
While wrinkle red is coated and NOT cured clean off the letters with a semi damp foam brush carefully.
With your mouth blow off excess build up.
Bake in oven to cure.
Then go back over and polish letters with compound.
You can use a semi gloss clear or a lower gloss clear on wrinkles to still keep the semi flat look. If you are not sure how the clear will look like over it shoot some sample panels. Also shoot a test panel polished with the clear by itself no wrinkle to see if it will look good.
