Before anyone says something about the shaft extenders, hear my opinion on these. For light use, private use, they are fine, but if you polish stuff all the time (like me) then you will wear the bearings out rather quickly in a grinder. They are built for the short shafts and do not have the extra bearing capacity that a "true" buffer has. Just as wheel bearings and suspension parts wear faster on a car with wider than stock track, a bearing in a grinder will wear faster with a wider spread between the wheels. For anyone who is a casual polisher, not 8 hours a day everyday, they are perfectly acceptable. Don't hesitate to purchase them.
i got a craftsman 1/2hp 6.5 amp 115 volts that has them extensions on it .. and it is ok but the shaft is to short to do a top mfi intake .. is is fine for little things but other that that .. i been polishing full time and i need some thing bigger ..
