Default Little Giant HC Agitation

Hey guys, I ordered myself a Little Giant HC pump for my tank agitation. I was wondering if theres any certain measurements I need to take before setting it up? I was reading around and people were talking about filters, but I don't know what for.
Is there a type of filter I need? Or do I just hook it straight up and allow it to pump the acid bath?

Thanks

Put it in the bath and let it agitate, you don't NEED the filters, may not be a bad idea but I haven't had a problem with out one. Eventually I'll filter the bath.

If possible, check pump connections and plumbing with water before using in electrolyte. It's easier to make changes in the setup if needed, much safer and cheaper than replacing spilled electrolyte.

I've got a question. I've just realized that agitation is really important just from reading these posts. I've never anodized but I've got everything setup and I'm going to start tomorrow or the next day. I already have a dual air pump for aquariums bubbling the solution, but noticed this thread.

I've got one of these

Taam Rio Plus 1700 Pump(UL)

It's a Rio Plus 1700 Submersible Pump it says it has ceramic bearings and Shaft. If this is true and doesn't have any metal parts exposed could this be used in the bottom of the tank to recirculate the solution? Or should I have it on the bottom of the tank and run a hose off of it to flow back into the top of the tank? Or will a dual air pump work fine for a 3 gallon tank?

Thanks.

Not too sure. The bearings on it might wear, but it doesn't say what their made of. It could work for a period of time but then it might die.

They say the bearings are cermaic. I think for a 3 gallon tank that the air pump would be fine?

ide just put a pvc pipe with small holes drilled in it
that way you can have your whole tank agitaded and its safer both ways

Any of the non-HC submersible pumps will work. I used them for a long time before going with a larger external pump.
I suggest you keep a spare at all times though... the plastic impeller will become brittle and break of the ceramic shaft right when you need it.
