Default New Mastech user cant get CC or amps

hey guys HY3020E just arrived....final piece of the puzzle.

doing two pieces at 20 sq. in. each. at 6asf the 720 calculator recommends 1.6 amps.

following the manual and sswee's directions i can only get volts. when the power is switched on the CC light goes on the off. only get CV at about 1v.
when i raise or lower my racked pieces the voltage changes to compensate so im assuming my connections are good.

try to dial amps in and the display just stays at zero. tried adjusting pieces, cathode, wires, connections, and i still get zeros.

Rack is connected to red output on unit
Cathode is connected to black output on unit.
    Green output was left untouched.

anymore info you need just let me know. been prepping for hours all morning only to be stuck.

    Sounds like either:

    1. Your not turned to CC mode BEFORE you turn on the rectifier. (Crank the voltage all the way up, amps all the way down BEFORE turning on the rectifier)

    2. Bad connections. What is your rack made of? What kind of wires are you using to hang your pieces and how are they held on?

so cathode is oxidizing when PS is on, yet even with me dipping a piece of al connected directly to the PS wire i still get nothing.

Dump the tig wire and use plain AL wire. The tig wire is too resistive at nearly at 2 ohms per foot! Even if you get it to work, your meter won't be telling you the truth of what's going on in the tank.

With the PS turned on and connected to nothing, does the voltage turned all the way up read 30V +-1V and the amperage read 0A?
Do you have any auto lights? 1156 or 1157 tail light bulbs? You can turn the volts to 13V and the amps all the way up and connect to a bulb. At 12 to 13.5V a tail light bulb will pull approx. 2A. This will tell if the PS is making an output.
