Gloss finishing

brown tripoli on a spiral sewn wheel on my 6" buffer then mothers powerball polish by hand w/ a mf towel.....still learning how to use the buffer

Hmm I'll pick up some lacquer thinner or acetone when I go out later. So simply dunk the parts or wipe them down in lacquer thinner, then degrease, deox, and ano as per regular?

Also for darker gloss colours I'm doing, such as black. Do I use ano to full 1mm?

i have been getting gloss finish at 1 mil.

What do you use to clean off the buff compound?

i personally use rubbing alcohol.

Does it clean off the black muck from the compound?
I buff one side of a piece, and the other side is marked with black (probably off the buffing gloves).

yeah cleans everything up nicely. i use the mothers by hand to even everything out as im still a rookie w/ the canton flannels

I'll try some this week.
Do you have like a 5 gallon bucket of it and you just soak it in? Or do you just wet a rag and wipe it down?

wet a mf towel, takes some elbow grease. good luck
