anodizing chain

hello, does anyone know if it's possible to anodize aluminium chain?
or of any metal finishing technique that can color aluminium chain?

It would be very difficult... every link would need it's own connection.
You could ano the chain in a tightly confined basket, but there are always parts that don't take ano using that method.

As Acidrain says, it would be extremely difficult - you have the conflicting requirements of ensuring electrical connection to every single link, and on the other hand keeping the chain open, and probably needing the chain physically agitating to keep fresh electrolyte and avoid hot spots - you'll also have the risk of some parts being shadowed.

It might be worth asking a question on finishing.com
