    Default Speckled Splatter

Hey guys, I've had a customer looking for a speckled splatter.
I said it looks more like an acid wash, but hes seen it in person and it does not fade in and out at the edges like an acid wash.

Any idea on how to get this look?
Perhaps a porous sponge with rubber cement? Or just fast dapping of rubber cement, any idea very welcome.

spray carpet adhesive (done at a distance) will create a similar random mess

Ahhh an aerosol can of some sort of adhesive, good call. I'll try to find some and see how it comes out later in the week.

    Any other suggestions as well?

Thinned rubber cement on a paint brush and "thrown" or raked off the bristles? Or even in a cheapo dollar store squirt bottle?

Yes, certainly with paint that works. Load a brush and flick it towards the item but hold a bar or big screwdriver or something so your brush hits the bar and stops suddenly and the splats of paint fly off - probably needs a bit of practice to get the splat-size how you want it. May need a couple of passes at different distances to get the range of spot sizes. Have fun !

    Hmmm,
Might have to try the paintbrush and splash. The aerosol I'm not sure how difficult it will be to take off, or even if it will stay on.
