Light Dimmer Circuit Diagram

Here's circuit diagrams for some dimmer switches in case anyone fancies making one for themselves.

I could not fine a suitable light dimmer in a UK shop so I made the 230V 1KW dimmer from this circuit diagram. Circuit is pretty simple and the components worked out cheaper - not sure how it would work with US mains supply but there is a 120AC Volt circuit also. I tested it today and it works great.

I'll let you know if it breaks tomorrow!

That should do just fine.
On this side of the pond, cheap 600W dimmers are about $4. 1000W dimmers are $20-$30.
