Default 0.1 ohm resistor

The lcd system calls for a 0.1 ohm resistor to measure amps. I went to Radio Shack and they don' t have them. Does any one know where to purchase them or if this is the correct description of this piece.

Radio Shack probably doesn't carry a single-piece .1 Ohm 5 watt resistor, but you can make one using five .47 Ohm 5 watt resistors in parallel. Page 138 of the "Complete Plating Manual" shows you how. You have the manual if you purchased a kit, or you can subscribe to the online version HERE. You will find the instructions on the last page of the online manual.

You can also find what you are looking for at several online electronics suppliers, like digikey.com or jameco.com, but you will have to wade through quite a few items to find it unless you have a catalog.

Hope this helps.
