Default Anodizing 2024
Hey guys,

I have some 2024 parts that a fellow is looking to have anodized. I have worked mainly with 6000 series in the past. How does 2024-T3 anodize compared to the 6061?

Fibergeek used 2024 in his LCD document and didn't mention any problems or issues when anodizing it using the LCD Process. I'm not sure if he used T-3 though.

It seems like he got good results with it. My guess is that it is at least as good as 6061 for anodizing purposes.

The T suffix after the alloy designation refers to the temper of the alloy, which has zero effect on anodizing.
