    Default Spot welder recommendations?

So, I've noticed some mention of a "sput welder" in the forums, that seems to be discontinued...

I don't know anything about welding, but would like to try something like the sput welder product just to weld
aluminum wire to small parts to preclude any connection issues during anodizingicon.

Can anyone recommend any welding apparatus for under $200 that will work for this purpose?

Will this 70amp arc welder from Harbor Freight work?

    Thank you!

Something like this would be very helpful to eliminate connection problems!

Any chance you are selling these, or maybe sharing parts list and schematics?

Well, I guess they say, necessity is the mother of invention and I've managed to cobble something together by hacking some off the shelf items.

After fifty attempted welds though, I've only gotten a solid weld twice with 1.5mm aluminum wire on a slab of 6061.

There's plenty of spark, and a loud pop, often leaving a blackened pock mark with occasional spatter, but it's been difficult to hit it just right to get a solid weld.

Anyone have any tips on technique?
