Default Alloys

I've been anodizing a type of paintball gun for some time now and i've found parts that always act in the same way, having a wierd dye job for the first 15 minutes, then after rinsing and re-inserting they'll eventually get a good color after another 30-40 minutes.

while at the same time, the large parts like the body tube and trigger frame will get a good color within the first 15 minutes. in my estimation this seems like different alloys even though the manufacturer insists all the parts are 6000 series.

i know some alloys need to anodize differently (like 2011 usually receives half the anodize time) but are there any other rules like these?

thanks for the help
