Default Anodizing colour variances.

Hey, im new here.

I just bought some parts from a company that were already anodized. They were supposed to be purple anodized. After opening them up, I realized that the parts were different shades of the colour, even though they were the same parts. What would cause a colour variance?

Thanks.

Default Re: Anodizing colour variances.

Many things will cause color variation. The material grade. The part finish before anodizing. The time in or effectivness of prep solutions. Variations in coating thickness and/or pore size due to acid concentration/temperature, time anodized, current density used. Variations in dye process due to time in dye, strength of dye, dye ph, dye temperature.SS
